Electrical Engineer – Water & Wastewater Projects
Location: Sacramento, CA | EPC Firm | Full-Time
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead design and engineering efforts for water and wastewater facility projects. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in industrial power systems and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead electrical engineering design for water and wastewater facility projects, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, generator systems, motor control, VFDs, lighting, and equipment layouts.

Ensure all designs comply with the NEC and other applicable codes.

Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers on project tasks.

Serve as primary point of contact with clients and coordinate with engineers from other disciplines.

Review and approve project deliverables, drawings, and technical documents.

Utilize AutoCAD for design work; experience with Revit BIM and SKM or ETAP power systems software is advantageous.

Coordinate with instrumentation and control systems as needed, including field instruments, control panels, operator interfaces, and PLC integration.

Provide technical guidance and project leadership throughout the design and construction phases.
Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (required).

Professional Engineering (P.E.) license (required).

7–11 years of electrical engineering and design experience, preferably in water/wastewater or heavy industrial facilities.

Strong knowledge of industrial power systems and equipment, including medium- and low-voltage distribution, generators, motor control, and VFDs.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit BIM, SKM, and/or ETAP is a plus.

Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, is a plus.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.

Prior experience leading projects or supervising staff is highly desirable.
