Overview
A growing manufacturing organization in Central Texas is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership opportunity for an accomplished finance executive who can provide both high-level financial direction and day-to-day operational oversight.
The CFO will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s financial operations, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, internal controls, and business performance analysis. The ideal candidate has previously served as a Chief Financial Officer and possesses the leadership skills necessary to partner closely with ownership and executive leadership on long-term business strategy.
Although this is a fully remote position, the CFO is expected to travel to the Central Texas headquarters approximately once or twice each quarter for executive planning meetings and key business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial planning and business growth initiatives
- Lead all corporate finance, accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions
- Develop long-term financial strategies that support company growth and operational objectives
- Prepare and present financial performance reports, KPIs, and executive-level business insights
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, banking relationships, and capital allocation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and all applicable financial reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and risk management processes
- Partner with operations, manufacturing, supply chain, and executive leadership to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, labor utilization, and operational performance metrics
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization
- Support strategic initiatives including capital investments, acquisitions, financing activities, and business expansion
- Oversee external audits and coordinate with outside auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
- Mentor and develop the accounting and finance organization while promoting continuous process improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- Previous experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer is required
- Approximately 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and strategic financial planning
- Experience leading executive-level financial strategy and organizational decision-making
- Strong understanding of manufacturing financial metrics including inventory, costing, margins, and operational performance
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills
- Proven ability to build relationships across executive leadership and operational teams
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced business degree
- Experience supporting privately held or family-owned manufacturing companies
- Experience with ERP implementations or enterprise financial systems
- Background supporting business growth, acquisitions, or organizational transformation initiatives
