About the Role:
An established engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Houston office. This role involves the design, development, and support of electrical systems, with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, communication skills, and the flexibility to work both in-office, remotely, and at client sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed plans, technical specifications, one-line diagrams, and reports for power distribution and electrical systems.

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing systems, gather field data, and provide recommendations.

  • Design electrical room layouts, raceway and wiring schedules, lighting, and grounding systems.

  • Specify electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and power panels.

  • Perform power system studies using EasyPower and/or SKM, including:

    • Short circuit analysis

    • Arc flash analysis

    • Protective device coordination

  • Provide commissioning support for electrical systems.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards (NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, etc.).

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals and timelines are met.

  • Prepare technical documentation and maintain accurate project records.

  • Follow all InterMat and client-specific safety requirements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (required).

  • Minimum of 2+ years of electrical engineering experience (consulting or industrial environment preferred).

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one (preferred).

  • Strong proficiency in electrical design tools/software (e.g., AutoCAD, SKM, EasyPower).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed.

  • Availability to work overtime when required.
